Oral Presentations

Scientific sessions are live sessions of 90 – 120 minutes moderated by a chair person. The oral presentations are 08 minutes, which may not be exceeded, followed by 02 minutes for Q/A session.

Note: Once your abstract has been accepted for presentation, you will be sent a confirmation email, which will also include the directions to submit your presentation. Please follow those instructions and submit your presentation in time. This is essential to facilitate the compilation and organization of oral sessions.

Slide Preparation Guidelines:

  • For an 8-minute presentation, prepare approximately 8 to 10 PowerPoint slides, including a title/introduction slide and a conclusion slide.
  • Use standard fonts (e.g., Arial, Times New Roman, Helvetica). If using non-standard fonts, embed them in the file to ensure compatibility.
  • Format your slides in 16:9 widescreen aspect ratio, which is the default in modern PowerPoint and Keynote software. Slides formatted in 4:3 will appear with black bars and will not utilize the full screen.
  • Ensure text and visuals are clearly visible and appropriately contrasted for projection. Review your presentation on a different computer to verify font rendering, graphics, and embedded media.
  • Maintain a consistent layout throughout the presentation.
  • Avoid overcrowding slides with excessive detail. Prioritize clarity and conciseness.
  • Prefer graphs and figures over tables for visual clarity. Flowcharts are recommended to represent processes effectively.
  • If including videos or interactive content, embed them directly within the presentation file. Do not rely on external internet links. Inform the Organizing Committee in advance about any embedded media.
  • Save your presentation to both your computer and a Windows-compatible USB flash drive. Additionally, carry a backup copy to account for any technical or logistical issues.

Technical information:

  • All presentations must be uploaded through the conference uploading system as PowerPoint (.ppt or .pptx) files, not exceeding 15 MB in size.
  • Each presentation room is equipped with a digital screen and a dedicated laptop. Minor last-minute edits can be made using the laptop available in the session room.
  • Please arrive at your assigned session room well before your scheduled time to ensure timely setup and testing.
  • In the plenary room, technicians will be present throughout.
  • In smaller session rooms, a room attendant and one technician (shared across four rooms) will be available for assistance.
  • Large breakout rooms (seating more than 60 attendees) will have an additional handheld microphone available.
