Programme Overview
The Research Training Programme (RTP) is designed to deepen students’ understanding of various research approaches and methodologies, particularly within the disciplines of public administration, policy, and management. It prepares trainees for conducting independent research, critically engaging with literature, and developing sound research strategies. It is designed to involve internal and external speakers on key aspects of research and mentees subdivided into working groups.
Objectives:
- Understand the nature of research, research design, and the process of knowledge creation.
- Familiarize with various research methodologies and approaches.
- Recognize ethical and professional considerations in research.
- Build core skills in literature review, critique, and research presentation.
Learning Outcomes
By the end of the RTP, participants will be able to:
- Distinguish between types of research and methodologies.
- Develop research questions and justify hypotheses.
- Critically evaluate academic literature and existing studies.
- Understand ethical dimensions of research.
- Design and present a complete research project.

Final Research Project
Trainees will complete a research paper covering:
- Problem identification & significance
- Literature review
- Conceptual framework
- Methodology and data analysis
- Ethical considerations
- Presentation of results
Participation and Trainee Conduct
- Minimum 70% attendance required for certification.
- Expected time commitment: 3 hours/week.
- Respectful and professional behavior is mandatory.
- Important announcements will be communicated via WhatsApp and must be acknowledged.
